Infographic – Virtual Reality Stats

Virtual Reality is still fairly new to the market, but has a bright future ahead. In a US-based survey regarding awareness of VR, 92% of respondents mentioned said they are aware of the term “Virtual Reality.” Additionally, only 4% of respondents between the ages of 14 and 19 said they have no interest in VR. Though the vast majority are aware of VR, most (74%) have yet to actually experience Virtual Reality. This is expected to change in the coming years, with the number of active VR users forecasted to reach 171 million by 2018.  With increased usership, naturally comes an increase in revenue; which is expected to reach $4.6 billion with revenue from VR software increasing by 3000%. VR seems to be somewhat of a known unknown to consumers, they know what it is they just haven’t really given it a shot yet; and based on the projections it won’t be long until consumers give VR a try and start loving it.
